Description

This factory is another typical example of the modernisation and expansion of an old building that we are encountering every day.

In this case, the principle of mobility was not followed in the design of the facade, which has solid elements of rendered brickwork, because most of these already existed. But in terms of form, the facade was designed according to the module followed throughout the building and will allow, during future expansion, the application of a fully interchangeable system of glass or asbestos-cement panels on standardised metal frames. Even today, partial alterations can be effected, through separation of the solid panels into independent plates. Characteristic of the need for mobility is the fact that office space had to be tripled even before construction was completed. Beyond the need for expansion, continuous readjustments in the diagram of operations must take place.
