Description

This block of furnished apartments is situated near the Asteria Beach at Glyphada, 20 klm. from Athens. The apartments will be let to tourists in the high-income bracket for the period May to September. However, the plans have been drawn up so as to permit the building to function also as a common block of flats.

The dimensions οf the plot are 31 m. by 27 m. Α compulsory green belt of 6 m. circumvents the building.
The building consists of two -and three- room apartments and the desired unification of interior and exterior space was realized through the construction of free-standing interior partitions and large openings.

The structural system consists of reinforced concrete pillars on a 4.20 by 6.40 m. grid, supporting roof slabs on widened reverse beams. The concrete remains exposed. The sliding windows and their metal frames are designed on a 0.95 by 0.95 grid. The flooring is cement tiles. The building is fully air-conditioned. The furniture was designed by the architect. Civil engineer Chr. Costikas. Mechanical installations P. Zannis. Photos Ch. Kirpotin. The construction, started in August 1966, was completed in July 1967.
