Apartment house at Glyphada, Athens

This block of furnished apartments is situated near the Asteria Beach at Glyphada, 20 klm. from Athens. The apartments will be let to tourists in the high-income bracket for the period May to September. However, the plans have been drawn up so as to permit the building to function also as a common block of flats.

The dimensions οf the plot are 31 m. by 27 m. Α compulsory green belt of 6 m. circumvents the building.
The building consists of two -and three- room apartments and the desired unification of interior and exterior space was realized through the construction of free-standing interior partitions and large openings.

The structural system consists of reinforced concrete pillars on a 4.20 by 6.40 m. grid, supporting roof slabs on widened reverse beams. The concrete remains exposed. The sliding windows and their metal frames are designed on a 0.95 by 0.95 grid. The flooring is cement tiles. The building is fully air-conditioned. The furniture was designed by the architect.
