In the publication an attempt is made to interpret the reasons why modern Orthodox churches cannot be considered architectural works - in the sense of spiritual and artistic creation - and, at the same time, to identify those stable and unchanging elements that characterize the architecture of our churches in historical time, so that it can contribute to the release of creative forces that will strengthen any (perhaps future) attempt to make our churches architectural works again.
It also examines whether Le Corbusier's Notre Dame du Haut in Ronchamp, France, a particularly well-known and popular work of the Western Church, can be a model for our own Orthodox churches.
A design example is also included, as a practical project to put into practice what is theoretically examined in the book.
The publication is prefaced by the Exarch of the Holy Sepulcher in Cyprus, Mr. Timotheus, and the architect and President of ETEK, Konstantis Konstantinos.
