Overview

With great joy and honor, DOMa welcomed architect Dimitris Antonakakis to the ninth DOMa Lecture, where he presented the history and recent restoration of one of the most emblematic works of Atelier 66: the Archaeological Museum of Chios. Through a deeply moving narrative, he reflected on the building’s six-decade journey — from its visionary conception and celebrated early years, to periods of alteration and loss, and finally to its long-awaited restoration, guided by the original spirit of the project. A heartfelt discussion with Giorgos Panetsos followed, touching on the “loneliness of buildings,” the value of architectural integrity, and the timeless relevance of the Museum’s design.
